Modon Holding, the Abu Dhabi-based holding company, has completed the acquisition of 100 per cent of La Zagaleta, the owner of the ultra-luxurious La Zagaleta residential estate in Spain’s Costa del Sol.

The acquisition marks a significant step in Modon Holding’s international expansion strategy, further solidifying its presence in Europe’s competitive luxury real estate market.

La Zagaleta, located in the hills of Benahavís and just 20 minutes from Marbella, is one of the world’s most exclusive and prestigious gated communities.

Spanning nearly 900 hectares, the estate features over 400 luxury villas and plots, two private golf courses, an equestrian centre, sports facilities, and a private helipad, all set amid natural surroundings that provide breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, the Andalusian mountains, and the north coast of Morocco.

Residents of La Zagaleta enjoy unparalleled privacy and security, with easy access to the region’s iconic coastline and vibrant beach towns.

The estate’s land area extends to approximately 2.7 million square metres, presenting Modon Holding with a substantial development pipeline, including plans for additional luxury residential units and a hospitality offering on the property.

The acquisition also includes Majarambuz, a planned development within the Castellar Development Plan near Sotogrande, historically known as Valderrama II.

This land bank, totalling 2.2 million square metres, is in the process of being urbanised and will add further value to Modon Holding’s growing portfolio.
